Kayvon makes history greeting first ever visit to Toronto by NBA Oklahoma City Thunder and superstar Kevin Durant

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

It was a history making time in the fine city of Toronto today. The NBA’s newest member of their ultra exclusive club – The Oklahoma City Thunder made their first ever visit north of Lady Liberty’s border to play the Toronto Raptors in an evening match-up at the Air Canada Centre. The Thunder was formally the Seattle SuperSonics but in a battle of wits, money and greed among the superpowers who rein in the National Basketball Association – the team was ripped from Seattle and abruptly moved to Oklahoma.

It was both a pleasure and honour to meet one of my favorite ex-players – and now head coach Mr. Scott Brooks. As well, superstar player Kevin Durant took some time to sign autograph for us collectors.

As soon as my own meet-and-greet with the Thunder concluded – I bolted down to the ACC to meet my brother and take in the game which the Raptors went onto victorious circumstances when they won their third game in a row, 112-96 over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

KayvonTV reports from Yorkville in Toronto and meets Salman Rushdie

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Corr Blimey! What a strange and peculiar day indeed it was for me out in Yorkville today! It just so happened folks that I was strolling along on that famous strip and celebrity hotspot in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada when I saw something….er…..someone rather that really caught my eye! I was gobsmacked with utter awe if not disbelief to see one of the most controversial figures in contemporary twentieth century literature walk right down the driveway of one of the major Yorkville area four star hotels accompanied only by an unknown acquaintance or friend of his, much to everyone’s shock! This was the same man who for nearly a decade was forced into hiding and became a complete recluse from public society due to a threat on his life summoned by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the time in the Ayatollah Khomeini for writing and publishing a sacreligious literary work back in 1989 that was deemed blasphemous to followers of Islam: the Satanic Verses. Well, I guess for folks like Salman Rushdie, you really can’t shake the thought of being viewed as a celebrity or public figure so why in the world would you not go about living life and continue to write blasphemous piss-takes on certain cultures or universal faiths? Stick to what you’re good at doing is all I’m sayin’ here!
