Who Says I’m Not British?!

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Well here it is folks! I have been meaning to clear up this whole “He’s not truly British” business for a while and I think that this episode of KayvonTV will do just that. If I was not British, then why would I partake in a little pass time know as high tea?
This video also concludes our coverage (for now) of this years Canadian Music Week. What a great CMW it was folks, we caught up with Alanis, the Rza, KRS-ONE, Moby and so many other great people that my head hurts trying to remember them all.
Make sure you stay tuned to KayvonTV in the up-coming months as we will post more great interviews from CMW, including my interview with Will Strickland and my memorable encounter with Perez Hilton’s favorite new band, The Mission District.
So,Ta Ta for now, hope that you all enjoyed my trip through Canadian Music Week, and remember, I’M BRITISH BITCHES!!!

KayvonTV questions Alanis Morissette after Alanis receives her lifetime achievement award as part of her induction into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame.

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

It was a great honour and thrill to be in attendance at this years Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame induction to watch none other then Alanis Morisette accept her lifetime achievement award.
I had many questions to ask the great Alanis Morissette, I wanted to find out for myself if my favorite show from back in the day, “You Can’t Do This On Television”, might be poised for a comeback.
Congratulations Alanis, you have been a shining light for the Canadian music scene since your glam rock days, it was a pleasure to finally meet you.

Fellow Brit gets under Kayvon’s skin during Canadian Music Week @ the Royal York hotel in downtown Toronto, Ontaio, Canada.

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

In what seems to quickly be becoming a theme, another attendee of Canadian Music Week had the nerve to question my British heritage. This wouldn’t have really bothered me had the guy been a local cat or had he had been from LA like that Keith Harris fellow, what really got under my knickers this time was that the guy was a fellow Brit himself, representing Tottenham, the home of the Hotspur.
What is with these people? Have they never heard an authentic English accent before? I’m Wimbledon born and raised dammit, me mom and pa left the old country when I was just a wee child, What am I if not British? Just because Wimbledon doesn’t have it’s football team anymore does not make me not British!!
I plan on clearing this matter up for now keep watching KayvonTV for more of our continuing coverage of Canadian Music Week 2008 from the Royal York hotel in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Canadian Music Week: Kayvon catches up to Miss Canada, Soze Brooks of Mosaic Music & Hip Hop Canada’s Big Jesse.

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

I have always sort of had a thing for the women who win Miss Canada, so it was a great personal thrill to spot the latest winner in the Lobby of the Royal York Hotel during day 3 of Canadian Music Week.
I had a couple of questions to ask Miss Canada, which managed to be rather tricky since her people seemed hell-bent on stopping me.
I also caught up with Soze Brooks of Mosaic Music (that’s right folks, the dude who produced the latest Mayhem Morearty Mixtape), as well as Big Jesse, founder of the super great Hip-Hop Canada website, the place that I cop all my urban related mixtapes from.
Props to Miss Canada, Soze Brooks, Big Jesse, Mayhem Morearty, My boys at BnS, Rocket, Glen Anderson, Wiff, and everyone else that has supported the K from day one. You know who you are, I don’t have to tell you, peace, I’m audi 3000!!
