(KayvonTV.com) Kayvon talks to PAUL MYERS about his new book "It Ain't Easy" Long John Baldry and the Birth of the British Blues. Baldry has influenced Clapton, Page, Beck, The Beatles and more. Kayvon can't resist also asking Myers about his famous sibling Mike.
John William Baldry, popularly known as Long John Baldry, (January 12, 1941 -- July 21, 2005) was a blues singer from England. He sang with many notable British musicians, with Rod Stewart and Elton John appearing in bands led by Baldry at various stages of the 1960s. He enjoyed pop success in the UK where "Let the Heartaches Begin" reached No. 1 in 1967 and in Australia where his duet with Kathi McDonald "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" reached No. 2 in the charts in 1980. Baldry lived in Canada from the late 1970s until his death, where he continued to make records and do voiceover work. He is known by a younger generation as the voice of Dr. Robotnik in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

What an honour and a privilege to interview Mr. Paul Myers who was recently in Toronto to talk about his latest book, “It Ain’t Easy” – The story of Long John Baldry and the birth of the British Blues. Folks, if you haven’t heard of Long John Baldry and the indelible mark he has made on popular music – you must instantly go to the bookstore and request a copy of this great book. Not to give away any riveting facts, but you know the “John” in Elton’s name (aka Reginald Dwight) – was given to him by early mentor Baldry. Long John discovered Rod Stewart playing in a London subway station. Eric Clapton is on record saying, “I picked up a guitar because of John Baldry.” Story after story percolate through Myers prose as this titanic figure on the British Blues scene is explored, examined, and explained. Of course, I could not let the interview end without asking about the other famous Myers sibling.
That’s not all folks! We’ve got more exclusive video of me and Paul Myers from his book talk. But your going to have to visit my official KayvonTV.com Facebook group to see that video. Enjoy!
OMG he looks just like Dr.Evil, where’s mini-me??
