Meet Kayvon: ‘The Superfan’ Zahedi

He’s a little guy with a helluva lot of words – and strange hats. KayvonZahedi, the fast-talking, stuttering Brit with the hilariously peculiar interview skills has made his way from Internet sensation to AUX TV regular. From chasing down Perez Hilton in a taxi to giving Sidney Crosby a homemade Valentine and getting ridiculed by Russell Peters, he’ll go to impressive lengths for a little airtime with his idols. I asked Toronto based Kayvon about KayvonTV:

Can you tell us an abridged history of your rise to Internet stardom and KayvonTV? (Note: this was less then a third of Kayvon’s ‘abridged’ response)

Over the years, many media types were drawn towards my charismatic good looks, natural charm and magnetic personality, which led to stories in the various Toronto dailies and stints on MTV Live and The JR DIGS Show. One day, in 2007, over tea at the Royal York, a bloke by the name of John Bortolotti informed me about this new exciting world known as the Internet. He offered to produce, edit and direct a brand new Internet TV show based around me real life day-to-day adventures. Production started immediately and at first it seemed like those promised billions of people didn’t care at all about the window into my life that was KayvonTV.com. Then suddenly we had viewers from all over the world watching my videos, and “blogs” and “chat rooms” buzzing about my crazy site. One day, I was walking down the street in Chicago when a car suddenly screeched to a halt in front of me, and several people jumped out and started taking pictures with me and getting me to autograph things for them. It made me think to myself ‘you’ve finally made it Kayvie, you’re international baby!!”

Is Perez Hilton a fan of yours now?

Perez Hilton is indeed a fan of mine! Perez “blogged” about my videos in 2008 and helped spread the word of my cult hit reality web show to all of his fans and followers.
Perez has even said he “finds me funny” and that he “Hearts KayvonTV,” although I still just don’t get why he believes that my accent is not real or that he’s convinced that my real voice is nothing like the one I speak with in his presence. I wish to assure the reader that Perez and I DO NOT have a plan to “hook-up” (off-camera) this summer in Los Angeles, and that my interest in Perez is strictly business related.

How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? Some have speculated 18, others 35…
Yes, I do mind you asking me this question as questions relating to my age are so frequent I’d have more than just six figures sitting in my bank account waiting to be spent for every ‘how old are you?’. But if you really must know, I am actually 20-something in human years.

I used to live in Wimbledon and I hear you did too! What brought you over to Canada?
Blimey mate! In which part of Wimbledon did you dwell? Were you living in the district of Merton where I originally hail from or did you happen to live nearby the Common or spend any time going out for picnics or afternoon tea in Cannizaro Park? Actually it was the tea that brought me over to Canada (you know that decorated four-star staple renown the world over as an orange pekoe flavoured black tea blend simply known as Red Rose).

Did you send homemade Valentines to any celebrities this year?

Well this year I was so pumped up about the debut of my brand new TV show on AUX, that I spent me entire Valentine’s Day hand-making Valentines to mail to all of the celebrities who were part of Season 1. It was a mighty task, but I managed to mail them all off before the post office closed. Who did I send them to you ask? Michael Jordan, Nicolas Cage, Tony Blair, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Slash, Derek Jeter and many more boldface names.

Have you caught up with Sidney Crosby since the legendary win?

Sadly, I have not caught up with the “Golden Boy” since the legendary win. I will share a top-secret plot with you however! The plot might or might not involve my good friends from the east coast, the Trailer Park Boys. The plot might or might not involve us breaking into the Hockey Hall of Fame in a quest to “borrow” the actual puck that Crosby scored the winner with. I can’t tell you much about this plan but if you tune into KayvonTV you will find out way more about this hair-raising new adventure that I might or might not embark on.
