* Hi Kayvon! Enjoying your show…can you tell us an abridged history of your rise to internet stardom and KayvonTV, please?

Hello! Glad you enjoyed my show! I do apologise here but I never usually am able to just simply give an ‘abridged’ history of anything really as I tend to go so far into lengthy detail and copious amounts of running dialogue thus not stopping short of the whole long story or full version of it so to speak! That would account for the reason why I never really am able to stop talking or chatting away to those I engage in conversation with (although in this case I am typing my answers out to you via email message form albeit instead of the verbal route I normally prefer to take). But if you insist upon an abridged history (of my rise to internet stardom and KayvonTV nevermind the full sentence answer) however, I will do my best to narrow it down (my answer to this particular question) from this point onward: It all started when I was taking up my hobby (not a profession mind you) of chasing celebrities around at events around the city to build up my massive ever-growing autograph / photograph collection about almost four years ago. This was when I still was making guest appearances during that time on a nationally-watched late night television show (as a celebrity correspondent host) on the Global Television network (which I had done for a good six years occasionally here and there). One day a couple of these fellow celebrity chasers (merely acquaintances who had formed their own partnership in making music and television documentaries approached me about creating my very own self-titled show (named after myself of course) based solely upon me and my daily life adventures of being a well-known personality amongst the celebrity entertainment crowd as an outgoing enthusiastic ’superfan’ of sorts (they had already caught wind of and watched some of my segments as a celebrity correspondent guest host on that nationally-aired late night television show I was appearing on at that time and were drawn to my unusual antics and endless amounts of energy or enthusiasm in my passionate approach for the celebrity world at large). However, instead of carving out my niche on television (which I had basically gained a cult notoriety and popular following through the television show I was on during that time spanning the previous six years on and off), they came to me and pitched the idea of creating an online web-based show or ‘webchannel’ that concentrated or was based strictly upon me as the actual main star or subject. Thus after an extremely nervous and pressure-induced period mulling over the extremely difficult and risky decision of putting my television work on hold (I was faced with the hard decision at the time to either continue being a main part of the talent featured on that very late-night national television show I was a part of for that six-year run or dropping out of the television show fold altogether (bearing in mind I would not really ever be able to come back on board the show and basically would have that inevitable looming choice to severe ties if I was to end up leaving them for other aspiring pursuits or outside endeavours with other parties) to jump to a whole new medium and audience on the mysteriously advanced realm of the information highway known as the world wide web at the time. It was one of the hardest and unsure decisions I ever had to face in my life of course at that point and it ended up stewing up some unfavourable animosity (if not provoking envy once word got around from the television show side of things what with their producer and audience making a fuss that I turned my back on them to ditch for this internet reality show I was just about to get my feet wet in so to speak) if not creating one bloody headache and all these mixed emotions (on one hand I was feeling bittersweet about leaving the world of the telly behind from a show that I was such an enduring mainstay / sparkplug of for the previous six years to being overwhelmed with optimism and excitement at the thought of crossing directly over to the computer screen to host my very own personal webshow on the Internet). I also realised from day one that I was born or more suited for television than anything else above all other mediums and got my early start in building quite a cult following on the late-night TV show I was leaving. My only regret is I wish that the split I made from that television show was treated more amicably but sadly that regretfully just was not to be the case there and there was no option offered to have the best of both worlds, which I obviously would have definitely preferred or liked, and be in a position to continue my work in appearing on the television show as a reocurring star and also be able to be the host or main personality of my own reality internet website. The choice offered to me by both parties was only either or so I had been backed into a wall or a corner if you will. Thus, eventually after some lengthy thought or deep ponderance I ended up making the life-changing agreement to sign on with those two aspiring music and filmmakers that I knew through my celebrity-chasing adventures and in the process putting a stop to my television career at that point in time. So with that agreement and deal being written, the show that made web-browsing history in KayvonTV was ready to be born! As early as March 2007, the show or webchannel was starting to take shape and breaking ground in its initial stages of design for the online web community. Then only two months later on May 27, 2007 (which coincided with being the day of my golden champagne birthday then), KayvonTV made its historic unveiling weblaunch and the hits just started coming right from the get-go (drawing traffic not only from Canada but from all corners of the net-surfing globe) which cemented my bold entrance into the promising frontier of cyberspace and thus began my rise to internet stardom! And nearly three years later to the day, I have not looked back since! Speaking of looking back here, this ended up being an epic full account of an answer to the question for an abridged or simple version of my rise to internet stardom and KayvonTV that you requested of me. Oops I did it again! Well there you go mate. Look what I started. At least I warned you of this beforehand. Can’t help myself just being me really. Hope the other answers I provide won’t bore you or wear your eyes out or even numb your mind for that matter. It’s just par for the course and I wouldn’t want to skip out on the enrichment of important facts or anecdotes about me or my show in telling it like it is. Leave no details behind within a synopsis and try to account for every fascinating side of my story (and there are lots of things fascinating about me I’m sure you will agree) without leaving out the juicy bits. A main course would not be sufficient or palatable without an appetiser or dessert so to speak. I know that isn’t the best metaphor or analogy to provide here but suffice to say that might explain my meticulous and over-the-top flow of rambling drivel across a vastly big expanse of explanatory dialogue. Simply put this was no nutshell of answer but rather a highly detailed piece of relevant bulk left for the reader to fathom or breathtakingly comprehend without diverting any close attention to the actual copious nature of the form itself. Either way, I do hope and pray in this case you will understand.

* Which interviews can we look forward to on “KayvonTV: Season 1 for Aux”

Well I hope my answer to your next question here won’t be as grand as the previous one I gave you with regards to my rise to internet stardom and KayvonTV of course. Which interviews can you look forward to on “KayvonTV: Season 1 for Aux’ you ask? Here I go again as I’m only still just getting started but if you must know there are several eclectic if not quite a brilliant mix of interesting interview material pulled together for my first season of KayvonTV for AUX. Some of the interview footage features yours truly interacting with the likes of none other than Mr. Gene Simmons of the widely famed notorious rockband of makeup-faced heroes (or alter egos depending on how you view them) known as KISS and fellow reality television star of his own popular series Family Jewels. Mr.Simmons has become somewhat of my personal counterpart or adversary (depending on how you view my interactions or previous encounters with the tongue-lolling, fire-breathing, blood-spitting, axe-wielding demon from hell of a bass guitarist of legendary stature from his KISS persona). If I end up looking just a tad bit intimidated or nervous around him throughout the course of my interaction or interview footage with him then don’t feel surprised as there is quite a history between us shrouded in contraversy. That interview of mine with Mr.Simmons is sure to captivate the audience and leave them wanting more if not scratching their heads in disbelief at its conclusion. However, it is not only Gene Simmons who makes an appearance in my interview clips but several other very noteworthy and prominent stars of the entertainment and musical fold alike. Amongst them, one of these include legendary music producer and guitarist / frontman of 1970s disco-funk supergroup outfit Chic in the multi-talented genius that is Nile Rodgers. Other standout interviews include the highly acclaimed punk visionary, noted documentary filmmaker, pioneering revolutionary activist, and British disc jockey who was a member of post-Clash band Big Audio Dynamite in the notorious Don Letts. That one is sure to raise a few eyebrows or more! Pardon my reluctance but I really don’t want to delve further as to whom I might be interviewing throughout the course of my first season on AUX for the notion that I might already be giving a lot of the ‘meat’ of those featured clips away. Besides, I’d much rather keep everyone guessing and have the viewing audience on their toes for what promises to be some top-notch exclusive on-screen interview segments (featuring yours truly of course amongst the horde of famous celebrities) that are sure to leave everybody wanting more every time they tune in to watch those popular bits. Afterall, they don’t call me the ‘Superfan’ for nothing! Some interviews might also leave you scratching your head in confusion or dropping your jaw in amazement at what you will behold. Either way, it is guaranteed that you will develop a great fondness or strong empathy to my geniunely tireless and unwavering onscreen energy or boundless enthusiasm seen throughout on the program along with the peculiarity of my nature in general. Judge for yourself or make what you will of my wonderous celebrity-rounded world that is KayvonTV by following my adventures as a reality television star on “KayvonTV: Season 1 for Aux” !

* Is Perez Hilton a fan of yours now?

The next question you ask is Perez Hilton a fan of mine now? The answer to that question will be the most brief response I have given you yet thus far. That answer would have to be that Perez Hilton (after several hair-raising and endearingly affectionate encounters of meeting me in person) is indeed a fan of mine although I still just don’t get why he believes that my accent is not real or that he’s convinced that my real voice is nothing like the one I speak with in his presence, which is rather odd if not baffling to me what with his admiration for my personality and acknowledging me as a true original character to whom he is so charmed by to no end. Nonetheless, he most definitely has me in his good books and even went so far as to actually pay great homage to me and my KayvonTV internet show on his own vastly popular celebrity blog / official website viewed by millions of people around the globe everyday! That in itself was by far the biggest compliment to the work I have done on my show thus far! Perez Hilton is a true inspiration to me and has a great empowering influence on my show as a whole. So it is without question and just became obviously inevitable that eventually he would be captivated or draw big attention to not only me myself as this quirky ’superfan’ of an individual but my website that is based around the goings on in my life. I always give praise to Perez Hilton and am grateful for his appreciation of what I do, even though his life as a celebrity has been faced with difficulty along with many tough challenges along the way. It ain’t easy being Perez Hilton but what would you expect from such a genius who stands out from the rest of the crowd and has millions of fans the world over? Likewise, being Kayvon isn’t a bed of roses either! And I’m no Perez Hilton for that matter!Believe me mate!

* How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? Some have speculated 18, others 35…

The following question you ask now is how old am I (if I don’t mind you asking)? What a great childish question indeed! Well to be completely honest, I sort of do mind you asking me this question as questions relating to my age are so frequent I’d have more than just six figures sitting in my bank account waiting to be spent for every ‘how old are you?’ or ‘can I guess your real age’ question. The fact that I have to be stopped to produce photo identification at every licensed establishment or event just shows you that I have had to overcome many doubters who feel that I am not simply ‘old enough’ for them and there isn’t any other way to prove it to them than just going the route of flashing a birth certificate or producing a passport before their very eyes? How bloody ridiculous can it get really? People should not be looked upon differently based on a simple number or age category. That’s why Peter Pan got so turned off by those bloody adults in the real world and went off to find Neverland with the rest of the Lost Boys lot. Similar to that mischievous bunch of geriatrics depicted in the blockbuster hit movie ‘Cocoon who wanted to go back in time and preserve everlasting youth amongst themselves. I guess Michael Jackson was right in following the footsteps of his very hero because ideally Pan was the first of his kind to resent the boring and sadly terrifiying realities of growing up into old age and thus seek out the fountain of youth in travelling off to Neverland. I also share this feeling and opinion justified in kind with the late great King of Pop himself (who was a living breathing example of the ‘Boy Inside The Man’ as opposed to the ‘Man In The Mirror’ of whom he was often mistaken for). Afterall, like the great saying goes, I want to live forever young! Is that an acceptable answer because if you really must know I am actually twentysomething in human years! Does that give you an idea really of how young I am? Do I look my age? Or more importantly, do I act my age? Either way, what you see is what you get, keep them hungry you bet!

* I used to live in Wimbledon and I hear you did too – what brought you over to Canada?

Blimey mate! You used to live in Wimbledon? I’m truly surprised at that one! In which part of Wimbledon did you dwell? Were you living in the district of Merton where I originally hail from? Did you live nearby the Common or spend any time going out for picnics or afternoon tea in Cannizaro Park? Did you ever happen to attend any Wimbledon FC matches at Plough Lane or take in the tennis championships on Centre Court at the All England Club while you were living there? Did you ever catch the odd panto troupe performing at the landmark Wimbledon Theatre? Was there a big South African community growing amongst the local residents during your time spent there as an inhabitant of the town? Did you ever run across any Wombles or thought to have had a rare encounter with one at one point in time or another living over there? Alright enough of me asking you questions relating to my original hometown of Wimbledon! What brought me over to Canada? I would tell you or let you know that actually it really was the tea that brought me over to Canada (you know that decorated four-star staple renown the world over as an orange pekoe flavoured black tea blend simply known as Red Rose) but I take it you would never buy that as answer (even though you most probably would buy Red Rose tea as any right-minded Canadian or proper person living in this great commonwealth country would at least once in their lifetime)! The fact is that my parents and some of my other immediate family members found new work and job careers here at the time and subsequently moved across the pond to the land we call the ‘Great White North’! If I had it my way, I’m not sure what I would have done in a ’should I stay or should I go?’ state of affairs! That was a hard tough decision to make for my parents but I think in the end it brough a lot of change to my life as a young boy transplanted to a whole different environment at the time. I hadn’t ever imagined I would get to see so much snow in my day before we made the move here! If you ask me now however I would actually prefer to take the rain and fog of England over the snow and ice of Canada anyday! God I miss it in London Town (my ‘home away from home’ so to speak’)! And I ain’t bloody well taking the piss here either sort of thing! So from far and wide I stand on guard for thee now indeed! Does that seem like a reasonable reply to your particular question in relation as to why I ended up leaving Jolly Old England behind to move to the snowy land of goose, moose, and beavers? At least they serve good fish and chips over here and carry the Red Rose brand of fine teas! Plus the good healthcare here in Canada is a model for the entire world!

* Did you send homemade valentine’s to any celebrities this year?

As for the Valentine’s query you posed, funny you should mention because truth be told I actually did not happen to send any homemade valentine’s to any celebrities this year whatsoever believe it or not! Despite that shortcoming however, this year love truly was in the air (or up in the air depending on how you weigh the balance of it). Of course in the prior or previous year to this one (last year I mean) I actually did attempt (to no avail really) to personally give out homemade valentine’s to the players of the Pittsburgh Penguins eventual Stanley Cup winning team during one of their visits in town to play against the Toronto Maple Leafs. As for the Pens going on to eventually win the Stanley Cup championship last season, that was strictly coincidental and it’s anyone’s guess as to whether my attempt to present homemade valentine’s to various members of the hockey club earlier in the year had really rubbed off on them to achieve such ensuing success on the ice or made such an impact for them to go on to win Lord Stanley’s Cup. Who knows really? That is one of the great KayvonTV mysteries still to be unlocked!

* Have you caught up with Sidney Crosby since the legendary win?

And no I have not caught up with ‘Sid The Kid’ since the legendary win! Although I will have you know that I still have not even caught up to what he did to deliver that legendary win! I assume you’re question is in direct regards to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games men’s ice hockey championship gold medal final. After living in Canada for more than half my life now and spending all this time in my adopted homeland I must say that what ‘Sid The Kid’ did to bring us that legendary win was nothing short of extraordinary and spectacular! What a golden finish that was really! Never would I have expected something that great to occur! That was no Miracle On Ice but rather a New Gold Dream! A Dream Come True on home ice no less! Bravo Sidney! He is Canada’s greatest hero no doubt for a long time to come! And yes he sure was one of the best guests the likes of which to ever appear on my KayvonTV! Makes me bloody proud to be a fellow Canuck! Cheers to that then! Go Canada go!

* How do you out run cars? Do you have an undisclosed super power?

How do I outrun cars you say? I for one like to play in traffic first off. Secondly, I just love to burn rubber! And finally I am just freakishly fast and can run like the wind without even being prompted! To be honest I really just love the great thrill of it all! The thrill of the chase or pursuit so to speak! Better than trying to chase or outrun wild horses really! Now as for having an undisclosed superpower I actually happen to possess quite a few several different undisclosed superpowers of which I am reluctant to disclose for fear that I might lose them in the end if I do happen to reveal the reveal (or begin the begin before that). So sorry to say I must keep the word mum on my undisclosed superpowers. I will remain a better person for the fact that I will not disclose my actual superpowers even though I’ll go as far to state that I am a person of many hidden talents. You’ll just have to keep putting on the telly and tuning in to the latest episodes of Kayvon TV on Aux to find out more about what I mean! Now that’s entertainment! Or is it food for thought?

* Where do you get your energy from? Red bull? Spinach? Red berries?

Where do I get me energy from? Red bull? Spinach? Red berries? Well the answer to that is not much different to the last one in that you’ll just have to keep watching KayvonTV’s Season 1 on Aux to find that information out (or not)! I will inform you however that spinach ceratinly is not one of my strong points to draw my energy from. In fact spinach is quite the opposite and works in adverse ways on my energy! Spinach is to me what Kryptonite is to Superman. I have a very low tolerance for spinach let alone as a source of my obtaining energy. The amounts of iron in spinach are detrimental to my energy levels and I absolutely hate spinach. Leave all that spinach crap to Popeye the Sailorman! That tobacco pipe-smoking wanker with the big muscular forearms is no match for my endless surplus of excess vibrant energy! That tosser can eat all the spinach he wants to really! I’d rather eat seaweed than that spinach bollocks to be honest! Well there you have it! So don’t forget to stay tuned to KayvonTV on Aux to get the inside scoop on what my real main sources of energy truly are! I know you’re itching to find that out! Thanks for asking anyway! Cheers!

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

After enjoying some delicious foods outside CN Tower off Bremner Blvd. – I headed over to the Front St. entrance of Toronto’s Tower (where the usual collection of autograph hounds were lurking) to greet Beijing Summer Olympics Gold Medalist and world record holder Usain Bolt who was just arriving in Toronto for his big race.

Legendary Rapper KRS-One on KayvonTV in Toronto’s City Hall: Talking Eminem Relapse record and Vibe Magazine

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

When I heard Hip hop legend and grand rapper KRS-One was going to be at Toronto’s City Hall (sitting in the Mayor’s seat no less!) for his Stop The Violence movement tour. I thought it would be the perfect time for me KayvonTV crew to catch up with KRS and talk about some important issues in the urban entertainment world today. After all, we had a great first interview back at Canadian Music Week 2007.

I first wanted to know how a legend like KRS-One feels about this VIBE Magazine BEST RAPPER EVER showdown their running and their decision to seed Eminem at number 1.

While KRS does give serious props to Eminem’s new record Relapse – KRS and myself, for a second, did wonder if 50 Cent might have ghost-written ‘3 AM’ for Eminem?

KRS also shared his feelings about the all important autotune issue (D.O.A.) and much more including a special message Mr. One had just for Eminem.

A truly fantastic episode from Toronto’s City Hall that has KRS-One with some surprising words, questions, and even a little advice for Eminem.

“VIBE Magazine doesn’t have the authority to say who is anything in hip hop – Their barely making it in hip hop. ” – KRS-One on KayvonTV, June 2009

Kayvon makes history greeting first ever visit to Toronto by NBA Oklahoma City Thunder and superstar Kevin Durant

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

It was a history making time in the fine city of Toronto today. The NBA’s newest member of their ultra exclusive club – The Oklahoma City Thunder made their first ever visit north of Lady Liberty’s border to play the Toronto Raptors in an evening match-up at the Air Canada Centre. The Thunder was formally the Seattle SuperSonics but in a battle of wits, money and greed among the superpowers who rein in the National Basketball Association – the team was ripped from Seattle and abruptly moved to Oklahoma.

It was both a pleasure and honour to meet one of my favorite ex-players – and now head coach Mr. Scott Brooks. As well, superstar player Kevin Durant took some time to sign autograph for us collectors.

As soon as my own meet-and-greet with the Thunder concluded – I bolted down to the ACC to meet my brother and take in the game which the Raptors went onto victorious circumstances when they won their third game in a row, 112-96 over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
